installation freezes

hey there... quick question:

i am installing Redhat Linux 4.2 from an IDE hard drive...

here is my hardware setup:

	540M Win95 drive
	850M drive
		409M of it partitioned to Win95
		404M of it partitioned to Linux

	* there is no swap partition

i made the boot disk and supplemental disk and they work fine.. i think

i get a couple errors:    indexhtml line 537 dne
i get that error a couple times with the numbers being different each
time..

then, when the rpms are actually being installed (red bars moving to say
it's installing), it all freezes at just about 4Megs.. it just sits
there... i let it sit there for just about an hour and nothing happened...

sooo... my question: anyone else have this problem? or anyone have a
solution?

again, i have no swap partition  set up, so could that be the problem? i
installed 3.0.3 before and that ran fine with no swap... (i'm not
upgrading... i'm reinstalling after a format to clear up space)...
