MetroX upgrade

I upgraded my old MetroX 3.1.2 to 3.1.5 using the masked files available
in the redhat ftp site.  When I startx, it looks good, and says MetroX
Verion 3.1.5.  So far so good.  However when I unmask the 3.1.7 file
against the 3.1.5 rpm, then install it, nothing appears to happen.  It
still says MetroX version 3.1.5 when I startx.  Has anyone run into
anything like this before?  I am using RH4.2 with Xfree86 3.2-9 (I still
havent been able to upgrade that one to 3.3 :P )
