Zip Drive Based install

I havn't been on these lists for a while, and the Redhat search is broken.
Could someone please send me a howto on how to trim the RPMS and create a
custom install so i can install off a zip disk.  I know i'm supposed to
create a custom file in the directory somewhere, but i forgot exactly what
i'm supposed to do.
