Problem w/ X-Windows

I have a very funny thing going on with X windows.  I installed RHLinux 4.1 about a month ago and I decided I wanted to update to version 4.2 via ftp.  Everything went fine, it only took about an hour.  Well, I then installed all the updates for 4.2.  I then proceeded to start X windows to change some networking addresses.  No such luck. It just doesn't want to let me in.  It was working before I did the upgrade.  Here is some info on the computer I am using.

Pentium 133
2.5 Western Digital HD
24Mb RAM
Sanyo CDROM
33.6 Rockwell Modem
Diamond 3D (nv1) video card
PS/2 Mouse & keyboard
WD compatible network card


Here is the error message

Fatal Server Error:
SVGA: hardware initialisation failed

_X11TransSocketUNIXConnect:  Can't connect errno = 111
giving up
xinit:  Connection refused (errno 111):  unable to connect X server
zinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error

Can anyone help...
