Yes, this is probably because you haven't gone into fdisk during the installer..

/dev/hda2 is a single partition, while fdisk wants to be pointed at an actual
drive (so that it can play with all of the partitions). You could accomplish
this via:
fdisk /dev/hda
then use 't' on partition 2 and change it to 83 (or is it 82? well, there's
help in fdisk)
The installer also provides a means to get into fdisk, so you could use that
too :)
