rh 4.2 installation/pcmcia

hello,

i would like to upgrade rh 4.1 on my notebook with a 3com 3c589 pcmcia
network card (connected with bnc) but i cannot get a network connection
using the rh 4.2 boot disks. 

eth0 is available but 10baseT is autodetected and therefor there is no
network connection. the card is set up with the dos utility to use bnc.

are there any start up parameters i have to use?

with the 4.1 install disks everything worked fine.
