Intel EEPRO/10 and Goldstar CD-ROM

Greets,

Two quick questions:

Why can't I get my EEPRO to work?  All it ever comes up with is 
something about unable to find eth0 module.

And how do I get my Goldstar ATAPI CD-ROM to work?  I've tried the 
gscd module but it won't work.  Damn thing uses it to install in the 
first place.
