Not true. You can have as many networks on a hub as you can imagine. What you
share is the BUS on that hub so all the traffic is bounced off all hosts.
I think your idea of having two NICs as long as they are on physically
disconnected networks is good. Just make sure that you understand networking
enough to keep data on the correct network and you have decreased the load and
increased the security of your setup.
