Re: Does anyone know of any links for Cable Modem Info..



I have a mediaone Cable modem on my machine.  The NIC they give you is a
3c508b i believe.  This should have direct support under redhat 4.2
kernels.  Other than that the only thing you need is DHCPCD, not DHCPD, but
the client.  Addresses are assigned via DHCP, and the client works great
under linux.  Of course all cable providers have propreitary systems, and
other providers might have different setups, so your usage may vary.  If
you contact your cable company and they do not use DHCP feel free to
contact me direct, and i'll help you setup for the cable modem.
