If anyone was successful in installing 4.2 on a removable SCSI drive, I would like to hear from him or her.
I have Pentium 133, 2 SCSI Hard drives and 1GB SCSI removable Jaz. I made the Jaz ID = 1 (as they tell to do it either 0 or 1). Went through installation. Everything is fine, but it does not boot.
Upon booting, I get 2 letters "LI" on the screen and the system freezes (hard freeze). I was not even trying to make the jaz bootable, just where the Linux is installed and boot either from MBR or another time from a floppy. In both cases boot is unsuccessful. May be Lilo is not good with removable drives. What else can be tried?
So far Red Hat support is of no help.
Please share your experience if you installed Linux on a jaz drive. After all, I bought the jaz specially to avoid mocking with my hard drives.
Thanks
