Hi,
My 100th attempt of the RedHat 4.2 install went well almoooost all the way.
At the very end I got this error:
"I cannot run /mnt//sbin/mkinitrd: No such file or directory"
This is RedHat 4.2 installation. I looked, using ctrl-alt-F2, into the
newly
created Linux filesystem, and really, there was no such file. No idea why.
Then I also tried putting the boot____ (what's the word, the thing that
would
boot the OS) on the Master Block, but that didn't work. I tried the second
option given to me, to put it in the some boot sector of another disk or
something like that, and that didn't quite work either.
I then rebooted, and of course RedHat did not boot.
I also didn't have an option of booting one of 2 OSes I now have, more or
less.
The machine simple started loading my old OS, Win95
Anyhow, can anyone recognize that error:
"I cannot run /mnt//sbin/mkinitrd: No such file or directory" ?
Thanks!
Otis
