I am using RedHat 4.2 on an NEC Versa 6200NT notebook. I have a PCMCIA
Ethernet card, a 3Com 589D, in one of its two slots. At first, I
couldn't get the PCMCIA to work, so I went out to the PCMCIA site to get
the latest version (2.9.11), compiled and installed it. On the laptop
it works fine. Here are the pertinent boot messages:

However, when I boot in the docking station, the PCMCIA fails:

I just changed this laptop to RedHat 4.2 from Debian 1.2, though both
are running kernel 2.0.30. With the old Debian, I was running PCMCIA
2.9.5. But it worked fine both in and out of the docking station. So
now, how do I get it to work with RedHat? Any ideas on where to start?
Thanks,
Curt
