How much ram do you have? What sort of BIOS settings are enabled? Is
all your ram good? do you have a way to test your RAM to see? Does
Linux see the total amount of RAM that you have? Is there any unusual
hardware in your machine? Do you have a sound card? CD-Rom? IDE or
SCSI? On my friends 486 DX4/100 I never did get it working. The DX4 gen
of proc's have terrible times working properly. I don't know if it is
cheap motherboards or what, but in general it is tough. Anyway, on his
computer, I could get throught the install just fine.... but when it
only had 8 megs of ram it took 21 hours. Yeah.. Suck. Anyway... Some
more detail would be great.
