Samba (Redhat rpm version) and FAST_SHARE_MODES

Hi,

When comparing the Redhat install of samba (samba-1.9.17p4-1.i386.rpm) with
a self compiled samba (running on slackware), I noticed that the Redhat
install is not using FAST_SHARE_MODES.

Does anyone know why ? I thought it only gives a performance increase..
