First, the farthest I've gotten in the whole installation process (from
scratch) is re-booting from my floppy, after which the screen either fills
with zeros and fours or an "LI" prints at the bottom of my screen and it
freezes.
I have decided that this must happen because the drivers for my Tekram
DC-390 SCSI adapter are not included in the 4.2 distribution. I have the
drivers but their installation instructions state that they must be
installed from a virtual console at the end of installation --
"Congratulations! Installation is complete. . . ." The catch is I have
never, after many, many times running the installation program, been able
to access any virtual console.
I'm assuming that the absence of the Tekram drivers are to blame for this
problem. If I'm wrong I'd like to hear any ideas. Thank you for your time.
