Mouse Problems in X Theory...

Thanks for responding gentlemen.
I am following the laptop install user page's directions....someone has left
detailed instructions and he has said that he used the PS/2 mouse protocol.
I don't have access to any setting for my pointing stick...even in my
bios.....but since it is fairly new and I also run win 95 should my pointing
stick be compatible with the Microsoft Mouse protocol?
