Mouse Problems in X Theory Part II

I have selected PS/2 for the mouse protocol, and the actual error I'm
getting just before starting X is that the Resource may be busy or not
there.....
Is there a way for me to configure my mouse in Redhat without recompiling my
kernel? I selected PS/2 when I installed Redhat so I'm assuming my kernel's
already compiled for it's use........
