Hello fellow redhatiants
I have a problem concerning the updatedb script running under cron.
I have redhat 4.2 setup straight out of the box.
In the morning when I check for mail I have one waiting from the cron
daemon saying it couldn't change to a directory (doesn't say which)
After poking around I found that it couldn't change to /root (I've set it
to 700)
Changing to 755 made it work.
No, why can't I have root's home to 700???
To me (just beginning with Linux) that's a sequrity risk. (minor but
still)
Anyone can shed som light on this or perhaps have a fix.....
I thank this list in advance and humbly put myself in it's mercy.
/Christian Wallentin
