Hi..
I'm testing the new HP Kayak PC's with Linux RedHat 4.2 and have bumped
into some problems:
but first some data:
Hardware:
HP KAYAK XU Dual P2-300 64Mb ram
1 Adaptec 7860 v1.32S2HP(onboard)
1 Adaptec 7880 v1.32S2HP(onboard)
1 AMD 79C970 Lance Net
1 Matrox II AGP 4Mb
MotherBoard:
HP's Own
BIOS:
PhoenixBios 4.0 Release 6.0.
BIOS version:HB.11.07US
Software:
Redhat 4.2 with kernel 2.0.32
Startup:
Found PCnet/PCI at 0xfca0, irq 11
eth0: PCnet (unknown) at 0xfca0 00 60 b0 a1 9c b5 assigned IRQ 11, no DMA
needed
lance.c:v1.09 Aug 20 1996 dplatt 3do com, becker cesdis gsfc nasa gov
Then the 7860 reports:
IRQ 10
Then the 7880 reports
IRQ 11 (same as net card)
Problem:
No matter what kind of PCI netcard I try , the same allways happens:
one or both the SCSI cards conflicts with the NIC.
Causing the NIC to go bananas! You can see it but you can't DO anything
with it. Kinda sad really :)
If I put in a old'n trusty NE2000 card, and rip out the PCI NIC, everything
works, but I MUST get it to work with a 100Mb card, and the last time I
checked , there were mighty few ISA 100Mb cards ;)
so to put it short...
HELP!!!!!
