Xfree86-3.3-1 Problems

I've finally got around to upgrading X and from 3.2 to 3.3
i snagged all the rpms to upgrade to 3.3 the install went flawless
i first tried to run XF86Setup when it tried to start that up
i get this error X11TransSocketunixconnect errno 111 connection refused
then i tried xf86config it configed fine but i do a startx it dies with
the same message
im also getting a message about could not open default font 'fixed'
i know this has probaly been discussed a 100 times but i looked through
all the back mailing list and just couldnt find anything
