Sorry for the repetition, I wrote about this last week, I thought I'd
try one more time ---
I need to install linux on a machine with a very non-standard ethernet
card, so I'd like to load the installation into the (largely empty)
DOS partition and do the install from there. The How-To explains how
to do this, but it appears that RedHat 4.2 no longer supports all the
utilities required. The utilities are basically hacks around
a) finding and quickly ftping the right things to download, and
b) making the names the right length for a DOS file system.
Does anyone know if there is a currently supported way to do this that
I'm just missing? The install program still certainly has the hard
drive option, and one of the directories you need to download still
has DOS freindly names. Am I just missing something?
If not, I'll tear my beast apart and try putting a regular ethernet
card in it, but I'd really rather not do this.
Joanna
