Sanyo CD changer

I have a file server which I am considering changing to Linux. It serves several clients and one important task
is acting as a server for several research/info CDs. The machine uses a 4 CD changer made by Sanyo.
While this is not as fast as a tower of CD drives, it works given the demand. Does anyone have experience
with CD changers under Linux? Will it recognize the changer as having 4 drives that can be mounted, or
will it not allow the changer to function because to change a CD is seen as an attempt to unmount the CD?
The Changer needs a separate Win95 driver for Win95 to see it as 4 drives while OS/2 automatically sees
it as 4 drives using the all purpose ATPAI driver.
Thanks for responses.
