Hmmm I'm replying my orginal post here. Basiclly because when I read it
even I didn't understand what I was talking about.....:)

So here I go again:

I have 2 disks one 1280 and one 515 both SCSI

I boot on the 1280 and have Linux on the 515

LILO is installd on MBR of sda ie 1280
and boots linux on sdb2 (with swap in sdb1)
I also have w95 on the 1280 and boot it from LILO

Yesterday I disconnected the 515 and after that the darn thing
wouldn't boot.

LILO hang and displayed 01 all the time (I think)

I thought it strange but I'm new to Linux.

SO I got a w95 boot disk and did a fdisk /mbr the boot into w95 and it
worked fine.

Well later I reconnected my linux disk and tried to reinstall LILO

I took my redhat disks, booted up and typed rescue to get to rescue mode.

Now my problems start...how do I edit lilo.conf to make LILO reinstall
itself on sda????

especilly since the rscue mode doesn't ahve any idea that there is a
non-linux disk that I boot from.

I can mount my (only) partion under /mnt with mount /dev/sdb2 /mnt
but when I run df it says /tmp/sdb2 mounted to /mnt ?????

So, how do I reinstall LILO on MBR of the first disk ie sda from the
Redhat disks???

SOrry about the length of this post.

Thanks
Yours
Christian Wallentin
