No network.

Hi,
I have a machine where I have a network card (NE2000 compatible, later on
replaced by a 3Com 3C509). I run RedHat Linux 4.2 The cable and HUB are
working fine. However I cannot network. When I run ifconfig -a I see that
RX-packets remain 0. TX-packets: 92. There are no errors, drops and
overruns. I thought the card broke down. So I decided to replace it by a
3Com 3C509 (The card I replaced was a PCI card. Now I use a 16-bit slot).

out here somewhat?
