Re: No network.

Hi Joshua,

Thanks for your reply. I think was pushing my luck a little bit too much (I
expected not to be the onlyone encountering this). My networking is indeed
based on IP.

The results of an ifconfig -a (only the eth0-part) is:
Link encap: 10Mbps Ethernet: HWaddr: 00:60:97:3B:6C:04
inet addr:192.168.200.1 Bcast:192.168.200.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0
TX packets:410 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0
Interrupt: 10 Base address:0x300

Because I can see that the light on the HUB is switched on while Linux is
booting I suspected that the card might be broadcasting something. I tried
to configure another computer to the very same IP-address. This was no
problem and no conflict appear to arise.

I forgot also to tell that a ping results in a 100% packet loss.

Thanks,

Yours,

Brenno de Winter
