LILO on floppy

Hi there, I installed a machine with 1GB each of Win95, WinNT and Linux 
RH4.2 I then loaded the MBR on to the floppy. My understanding was I may 
be able to boot the system to Win95 or WinNT without the floppy, but when 
I boot the system without the floppy, it stops at LI on the screen. Could 
some one please let me know what is happening. Is there a way to boot 
Win95 or NT without the floppy and only load Linux from the floppy. 
Comments/suggestions/advice greatly appreciated.
