Java problem again

I keep getting that same JAVA_HOME error i got before... here it is
"I tried to guess where java is installed, but I still couldnt find it. 
You must add java or jre to your path, or set JAVA_HOME."

I have the Java Runtime Libraries in directory /root/jre
what should i type in in the profile to make sure that i dont get the
error anymore?  thanks.
