Hello,
I recently re-installed RedHat 4.2 with upgrades to support my Matrox
Mystique card. Unfortunately, I seemed to have deleted a bit too much
in upgrading my SVGA libs or something. I'd appreciate any help I can
get.
startx runs fine, apparently. I get the window manager running, but
it doesn't have any of the niceties that the system had the first time
I started, such as the Control Panel, or the pull-down menues on
mouseclicks. All I get is the default menu which is kind enough to
let me exit.
I copied xinitrc to my home directory, but that didn't seem to help.
After editing it, I could get an xterm running. I suppose I could
recreate a hobbled environment from scratch, but gee, I really liked
that set up.
Does anyone know what files I might need to replace and where I might
get them? I'm just looking for the default X Windows set up when you
install RedHat.
Thanks in advance,
-j
