Sony CDU31A

I am trying to install redhat 4.2 linux on a computer that has as 
Sony CDU-31a CD-ROM.  Win95 does work with this drvies, and verifies 
that the port is at 340, so for put i put 0x340, and install cannot 
find the device anywhere on my system.  Any ideas?
