Thanks to this response, I found that /etc/sysconfig/network-sc*/ifcfg-eth0 didnt even exist on my system, so I manually put it in with DEVICE= ,IPADDR=, etc.
Now the network configuration is saved. :)
BUT NOW (ugggh!) when I boot my system, it pauses for a minute (literally) at the lines:
"Starting: amd amd"
and
"Starting: sendmail sendmail"
.....is this normmal? Should I just be satisfied that the sys boots or is this a symptom of another problem?
What is "amd" ? Will Pinky and the Brain ever take over the world? What will this do to cheese prices?
