Thank you to the individual(s) who responded to my post regarding
XFree86. The solution suggestion sounds much similar than what I
expected. However, obtaining the new version might prove to be a
problem. I have not yet set up ppp, so I am unable to download the
files directly. I was also thinking of downloading it with windows,
mounting the windows partition and copyying the files. However, I tried
this recently and was unable to mount the drive. I think that it may be
due to the fact that the drive is formatted for windows 95 with fat32.
I asked a freind and he said that I can make the linux kernal able to
read fat32 partitions, but I would need to recompile the kernel ?!?!
What do I specifically need to alter the allow mounting of fat32
partitions? I realize that a post on this list probably couln't tell me
how to recompile the kernel, but can anybody suggest some good sources
to learn how to do this.
