On Thu, 2 Apr 1998, nearly comatose, Robert Goheen managed to scribble:
::
::Ok, so I've installed RH 5.0 and Metro X and everything seems to be
::working pretty well. But there's one little thing with X-windows that
::isn't quite working right: the screen saver/lock screen function. I
::don't even know how to trouble shoot this, so perhaps someone can give
::me a hint.
::
::Yes, I know that ths isn't a show-stopper issue, but I'm kind of worried
::that this might be a symptom that something more important that isn't
::working quite right. And it bugs me, too.
::
When you say it isn't working, do you mean that you get an error, or that
there is simply no change in the screen? Sometimes if you don't have the
necessary files for screen savers, there is simply no effect. Usually
you will see that an error indicating that a file was not found if you
hit CTRL-ALT-F1, presuming that you started X from the first console.
Look there for errors, and we'll shoot from there.
Have a good day!
