I re-installed 4.2 using autoboot from a dos partition on the machine
and then installed the 2.0.33 kernel that I downloaded from kernel.org.
I successfully built the kernel, re-built lilo to boot the old 2.0.33
kernel, dos or the new 2.0.33 kernel. After re-booting I get:
LILO boot:
Loading Linux........
Uncompressing Linux...
ran out of input data
-- System halted
for either the 2.0.30 kernel (which was working fine) or the new
2.0.33. What the heck does this error mean? Is this s LILO error? The
machine has an Adaptec 2742 scsi host with two hds, a cd-rom and a 1/4"
tape drive. The mboard is an older Micronics with dual Pentium 100s and
has been working fine. I can still boot through to dos using LILO.
What did I do wrong? Thanks in advance...
