Incorporating Errata into Redhat v5.0 Installs

Hi,

I have a question regarding the way RedHat v5.0 does fresh installs of
Linux. It is possible when you do an install from a hard drive to replace
any older files with updated files (from the product errara) in the
redhat\rpms directory and they will be picked up and installed automatically
when you install Linux. This results in a fully functioning copy of Linux
WITH all the latest rpm's installed. However I have found this to not be
possible when doing an install via NFS and FTP. I _think_ what happens
when you do an install via NFS or FTP is it copies down either all.zip or
all.exe from the redhat\base directory and it will look only for rpm's
listed in these files. When I update the files and then do an install via
NFS or FTP I get error messages that certian rpm's could not be found,
namely the ones I updated. Does anyone know the format of the 4 files in
all.zip/all.exe (comps, hdlist, rpmconvert and skeleton.cgz) and if it is
possible to regenerate them with an updated list of rpm's. I knows this
seems like a minor issue but where I work I have about 10 people constantly
formatting their HDD and re-installing RedHat Linux v5 and then hunting down
all the updated .rpm files and installing them. I just thought it would be
handy to have a full updated copy sitting on the server that could be
installed using NFS or FTP which is the main way we install Linux where I
work.

Thanks,

Adrian.
