Hello,
I have recently installed RH5.0, and gotten xwindows up and running. The
problem
I am having is getting linux to see my floppy and my backpack cdrom
(both of
which I used without problem to install RH5 in the first place.
In the file system manager, when I try to mount the cd, I get the
following msg;
mount /dev/bpcd
returned following error:
mount: the kernal does not recopgnize /dev/bpcd as a block device (maybe
`insmod
driver'?)
And when I do "info" on floppy, it shows,
device /dev/fd0
Partition type:NFS
FS type_____________ (empty box, perhaps I need to fill it in?)
mount point: /mnt/floppy
and when I do "check" floppy it says,
fsck.ext2: bad magic number in super-block while trying to open /dev/fd0
error: child process exited abnormally
when I try to "format" floppy it says,
cannot make file system on nfs or extended "partions"
Anyone know what to make of these error messages?
Thanks
-Peter
