Hello,
I'm brand new to to Linux Redhat distribution.
I try to install version 5.0 over a ftp connection to a Win95 CDrom or the
files copied from the cdrom onto the harddisk using the names as on the
cdrom.
Everything is going quite well up to the ftp
first the base/hdlist and base/comps are copied quite well, but as soon as
the other file from the rmp directory has to be copied the install stops
with a message that the files are not found.
The problem is that the names on the cdrom are not the complete ones. I
found the trans.tbl file in the rmp directory with the correlation between
the short ones and the ones used in the ftp process.
So how can i feed the ftp/install process with this file so that the
shorties on the cdrom are recognised als the targets and installed with the
longLinuxnames.
Thanks people for helping me out.
Like to hear from you.
best regards
Koos
