Newbie installing Redhat 3.0.3

I'm trying to install Redhat 3.0.3 from a CD on my Compaq Prolinea 4/50,
which has a Quantum IDE HDD, and a Sound Blaster 16 CD-ROM drive which came
with the SB sound card. 

I'm trying to install from the CD, but as soon as I get past the part when
it recognizes the CD-ROM drive, it tries to read from the CD, but I keep
getting a series of error messages where it cannot find a particular
sector.  I've had no problems with the drive while running Win 3.x so is it
possible there's something wrong with the CD???
