Hard Drives

We just got a 233 MMX machine with two 2.8gig maxtor Ultra-DMA hard drives.
The trouble I am having is when I try to install  RedHat 5.0 it is not seeing
the drives
properly. it sees them as 2.1 gig and not 2.8 gigs.
Is there some kind of Boot: command I can pass so that it will see the drives
properly.
They are configured in the CMOS and it does detect the full size of the drives.
Anybody know a FAQ where I can find more info? Thanks in advance for any help.
