Can't see my IDE CDROM after booting from bootdisk.

Hi!
I want to install RH5 on a 4.3GB UDMA drive.
When I try to create the partitions I can only see ~2.5GB of the disk.
The disk was first partitiond by Win95's Fdisk, I wanted to install linux
from scratch on it, but after booting from the image disk I cant see 
my CDROM (ATAPI CD ROM on hdb, as slave) I am using a PII with  the AL440LX
motherboard.
