Compaq ProLiant 5000 w/ Smart-2/P?

We have had dumped on us [oh lucky us] a Compaq ProLiant 5000, onto
which we'd like to install Linux.  The Red Hat boot diskette asks us on
which SCSI host adaptor we have our CD ROM drive.  Well, it's on a
Compaq Smart-2/P SCSI/Array adaptor.

Has anybody succeeded in getting this configuration installed?  If so,
please, how?
