SV: SV: 486sx rh5.1 install IDE drive problem



It is clear that RH doesn't see your drive; that's why you get the message
about. I just tried booting linux hda=1024,15,63 on my problem machine and
that 
one accepted this... 

As long as you haven't used the " character or spaces between hda, =, and
the 
parameters; you are doing it correctly.

Do you have another disk you can try ?

Check that it is set up as master/standalone. If it is an old Conner drive,
and
you are using it together with a slave (eg. CDROM), it might not work.

You could also download a new boot disk from RedHat's ftp site.
