Amen on the too much information. For all RedHat has to say about making the
installation of Linux easier, they still end up saying you need more
documentation, but they don't tell you the next step.

that's my point. There's TOO MUCH info. I'm not going to be using
any kind of server, so i don't need all the stuff that goes along with it.
The main i thing i need to know right now is: How do i come up with
modelines for XF86Config? I tried reading the docs, but couldn't
make heads-or-tails of it.

I wish i had AGP. I have an S3 Trio Virge DX. I'm currently
running RH 4.2. I've been trying to do an ftp upgrade to 5.1, but to
no avail. I went to RH's ftp site, and got 'root.img', and 'supp.img'
and made new disks. It starts downloading files, but "hangs" after
about 3 minutes. I wait about 10 minutes to see if maybe it's just
processing something, but nothing ever happens. I can't even
^-alt^del, i have to push reboot. Any ideas?

Same thing. If there's no driver, then it's not usable by the OS.
