root# ln -s /lib/modules/2.0.35 /lib/modules/preferred
I suspect that the idea was to use a symbolic link to be able to switch
between different kernel versions, where the directory linked to matches the
boot version. But you have to change both the line in /etc/lilo.conf and the
symbolic link. I just happened by accident to notice the symlink before I did
a red hat rpm kernel update, and found it was gone afterwards. A trivial
action that I don't remember seeing in any docs yet ( not to say it's not
there - I just don't remember seeing it ).
