Re: What Protocols are needed for Samba?

I have my Win98 network card set up for TCP/IP with a static IP address,
192.168.0.2.
I then did a ping from Linux to Win98/Dos and from Win98/Dos back to Linux.
After this I set up the smb.conf file to announce itself on the network. I
then logged onto my Win98 machine with the same root passwd as my Linux
machine. After that I ran smbpasswd and gave it the root username and root
password on my Win98 machine, which I setup to be the same as my Linux box.
After that I can do almost anything on my Linux box FROM my Win98 box.
