Dominic, please get your terminology straight before you confuse
everyone.  What you're trying to say is (I _think_) correct.
Namely, that you must boot to a drive on the primary IDE interface
(hda or hdb, not hdc or hdd).  However, this has nothing to do
with partitions.  You can boot off any partition, even one in an
extended partition.

I may be wrong on the "hdc doesn't work" call, but I believe
it's come up here before.  Anyone else care to comment?
