Problems with X version of RPM

Hi,

I just installed RH 5.1 after reformating my old hard drive which had RH 5.0
on it.  Now...whenever I go to scan available packages in the X version of
RPM...it starts scanning the cdrom drive but stops at about 75% complete and
then sits there doing nothing.  This never happened with RH 5.0.   Anyone
have any ideas as to what might be wrong?
