Hi all,
I got the following error at the beginning of the install of the RPM
packages :
RPM install of basesystem failed: package basesystem-4.9-1 is for a
different architecture.
The name of my RPM package is BASESYST.RPM which from the translation table
(TRANS.TBL) is basesystem-4.9-1.noarch.rpm (i.e.. it is not an "i386" rpm,
is this a problem ?).
I'm installing on a 100 MHz, 32 MB Ram, 1.2 GB HD machine with the "hard
disk" type install. My linux partition starts at 600MB. I don't think it
crosses 1023 cylinders as my hard disk is recognized as the following:
hda: WDC AC11200LS, 1222MB w256kB Cache, LBA, CHS=620/64/63, DMA
Could someone please send me in the right direction. Please, Please...
Anoop Mathew
