Hi, I don't know very much but I have been using FTP with no 
problem. First, I am in the Xwindow gui. I open a window. At the 
prompt, I type xminicom to bring up minicom. From there, I connect 
to my ISP and use the ftp function from there. But a problem has 
arisen: The files I download end up in a file under my user name on 
the ISP's server. Then I have to download them once again to my 
hard drive. A pain the butt, alright.
