Installation Problem

Whenever I try to install RH5.1 on this system, the kernel panics upon
mke2fs being executed.  This happens either if I boot from the distrib.
CD, or if I grab a new boot image from RedHat.  Anyone have any ideas?

System:
	Abit 440BX Jumperless Mainboard
	PII/233
	96mb RAM (2x16mb + 1x64mb 10ns SDRAM)
	24x TEAC ATAPI CD
	2.1gb Quantum Wide SCSI drive
	Adaptec 2940W
	Realtek 8029 Ne2k clone
	DImaond Stealth II G460 8mb AGP (i740-based)
