K6-2 and kernel - Penitum/386/486???

Subject: K6-2 and kernel - Penitum/386/486???

When compiling the kernel, the installation guide suggests that I pick 386
if I have an AMD or Cyrix CPU - I'm guessing that the guide was published
before the k6-2. Should I be compiling as Pentium or 486?
